Highly recommended Izakaya near Cape Zanpa. The atmosphere was extremely welcoming and homey, especially thanks to the friendly staff. The food was very fresh, and quickly prepared. I particularly enjoyed their sashimi which changed every time and was skillfully cut, their butter fried fish, Umibudo, Rafute, and Yakitori. Also a decent selection of drinks, with various Sake and Awamori.
Walk-in for 4 on a Friday night in July. (With 2 primary school aged kids). Aussie. This food was unreal! Sashimi probably the best of our 3 week trip. Nice size bits, I’ve found the slabs from some other places a lot. The fish in butter was awesome also. Very accommodating for our kids. Highly recommend! Very economical menu and English version available if needed.
Very authentic, great food and great value (I spent almost $65 USD for 3 people). We had the sashimi platter which was incredibly fresh, as well as soups, sides, and traditional Okinawan dishes. There were things that I definitely had never had or seen before, so I was very pleased to try new food here!
I will definitely come back! I love the egg, the sashimi, the tongue……!
As good as it gets! Pure authentic izakaya with fantastic food and great atmosphere. Very friendly staff and nice guests. Great experience, will go again tomorrow. Ps. The plate sashimi you see on the photo was only ¥1.000
Food: Assorted sashimi Sea grapes Grilled butter fish Tuna rolls Pork fried rice Somen Chanpuru Totals to around 8000yen split amongst 3 people. We felt satisfied by the end. It was nice because the food came out slowly one by one so we got to enjoy each dish slowly and also fill our stomachs slowly. We stayed for around 2 hours. The sashimi was so fresh. The tuna was really soft and creamy while the white fish were more chewy and textured. Both tasted amazing. Sea grapes are iffy for me. I don't love them but I'd still eat them. The grilled butter fish was very good. Had a subtle buttery tasted, well salted and the fish itself was awesome. The pork fried rice and somen Chanpuru aren't notable but we're solid options. Tuna rolls were a solid choice since the tuna is very fresh at this restaurant. Service: food came out across 2 hrs. Servers were friendly and prompt. Atmosphere: cozy atmosphere with low tables.
I had three delicious dishes: gyoza, Goya Champuru, and, my favorite being, Mozuku seaweed tempura! So good and all served quickly and hot. The beer was so cold, just what I was craving. I spent around 2,600 yen. Very authentic spot. Shoes off. I translated the menu and had no problem ordering. (there was also an English menu with pictures available.) The servers were nice. One of the servers brought me an English menu when he saw me translating and later an Okinawa donut! All 5 stars! No reason to rate it lower.
The sashimi is very nice with the baby lime, which I don’t typically see elsewhere in Japan. The crispy fish karage is so crispy you can eat even the bones.
